HISTORY

Boambee Soccer Club held its first committee meeting early in 1981 bringing together interested parents and players from the surrounding suburbs of East and Middle Boambee.

The land that has become Boambee soccer club’s home ground of Ayrshire Park was donated by the Hull-Moody family in the late 1970′s to the Coffs Harbour City Council for community recreational use and after much work by the local soccer community the ground was established as the home of Boambee Football Club.

Boambee is now a strong community based club that is well represented in both the male and female junior competitions. The senior men’s side and the senior women’s side are consistently competitive and offer a true path for our junior player base.

In 2014, Boambee Football club was awarded the North Coast Football’s Club of the year in recognition of their programs, their players, their volunteers and their management committee. The Club also had 5 teams in the Grand Finals, boasting a win in Reserve grade men’s, First and Reserve grade women. Both of the senior women’s teams also finished the competition as minor premiers.

2015 saw similar successes with 3 of our senior teams and 2 of our junior teams making it into the grandfinals. Our 12’s 2nd Division team, 15’s and Reserve Grade Women were all successful on grand final day. We had 4 teams finish as minor premiers (Womens First and reserve grade, 3rd division mens team and our 15’s team) and two of our teams finished as zone champions also. (Mens rd division and 15’s). We also had a few individual successes within our senior men’s division with Jake Stitt being named NCF Goalkeeper of the year and Naomichi Matsuda being named NCF mens player of the year.

2016 was a impressive season for our club, receiving its Level 1 accreditation. Our women’s premier team were crowned minor premiers with 7 weeks of the competition to go. They went on to win their grand final convincingly and also two of their players took out the top 3 individual awards for female players in the NCF zone – Goalkeeper of the year (Dianna Walker) and Golden Boot and Player of the year (Kylie MacDonald). Boambee FC also played host to the male Goalkeeper of the year (Jake Stitt for the fourth year in a row), Golden Boot (Brady Parker) and narrowly missed out on the Player of the year award (Naomichi Matsuda). A number of teams made it into the finals series but a special mention needs to be made of our U13’s team who convincingly won their grand final against the team who finished the season on top.
